Scouts/Explorers Indoor Cooking Competition

Following on from last years success it was decided that this year the indoor cooking competition would once again be based around the idea of "ready steady cook". Each team was provided with an identical bag of ingredients that contained a selection of raw ingredinets. Teams also has access to the "store cupboard" ingredients - a table of various bits and pieces that could be used alongside the provided ingredients.

On receipt of the ingredients teams then had 30 minutes in which to plan a three course meal consisting of a starter, a main and a desert. Once the meal was planned teams then had a total of two hours in which to prepare and present their entries - the order in which they prepared and presented each individual dish was up to the teams. Dishes/courses were judged as and when they were ready.

Points were awarded in the following categories:
  • Menu
  • Hygiene
  • Team Work
  • Starter
  • Main Course
  • Sweet
  • Presentation

A total of 200 points were available for each team. The results were as follows:
